Derby Day Return For Hibbo?

Hibbo is targeting the Derby match a week on Saturday as his return to first team action after being sidelined with hernia surgery. Hibbo who is currently in Thailand with some of the Blues hierarchy on a promotional tour, has promised to stay off the Chang, while he is sidelined.

Hibbo says: " It was a hernia repair and I have had four done now. You can't do much for the first couple of weeks, then after two weeks rest you can start running so you have got to grit your teeth and get on with it. I have got a date in my mind that I would like to be back for and that is the Liverpool (the shite) game but that could be too soon. The time they have given me goes over that date but I would like to think I could get back for the derby." (26/01/10)

Hibbo Captain on His Big Night

Hibbo has been handed the captaincy of Everton Football Club on the night he passes Goodison greats Colin Harvey and Brain Labone's appearance record in Europe.

Hibbo tied with the Two Giants of Everton FC when he made his nineteenth European appearance in the Blues 1-0 away win in Athens. Against Bate Borisov Hibbo will make his twentieth and record breaking appearance and to celebrate the fact, Moyesy has made him Captain for the evening Well played Hibbo. COYB FTRS

Hibbo The Record Breaker

Tony Hibbert joined the ranks of the Everton Greats on Wednesday night in Athens when he equaled the appearance record for European games played in the Royal Blue. The likeable right back joined Legends Colin Harvey and Brian Labone when he pulled on an Everton Jersey for the 19th time in all European Competitions. Hibbo will go on to hold the record outright if selected against Bate in a fortnights time. Well played Hibbo lad.

Hibbo says: "“They are legends so to equal the 19 games of them shows what the club has done and how we have done in Europe in the last three or four years. On a personal note, it does feel a great achievement to equal their record.

It’s a nice record to have, and hopefully I can go on to beat it if I can avoid injury now. The squad that we have now and the way we are playing, we’ve shown in Europe we have the experience. I don’t see any reason why I can’t have the chance to make more appearances.” (04/12/09)

Everyone Has To Battle

Everton's right back, cum temporary centre half, cum Blue through and through Tony Hibbert is warning all of his team mates that no ones place is safe. Hibbo's right back berth that he has made his own over the last few seasons has even come under pressure itself. New boys Lucas Neill and Jonny Heitinga are trying to oust Hibbo from his position, but all Hibbo wants is his injured pals to get fit and get more competition for places within the Squuuuuad. Good on yer Tony, a proper Blue is you.

Hibbo says: "The players who are out are genuine class. So, the players who are currently in the first-team are constantly looking over their shoulder even when they are fit or not. A few of them are on the fringes of a return and it just shows what hard work they have put in; we can't wait until they are back.

People say that when the injured players are out, the team picks itself. Other players (elsewhere) may not want the injured players to come back, but that is certainly not the case at Everton. Every player at the club wants as big a squad as possible. It’s just a case of them wanting Everton to achieve, and the squad that we have are a great bunch of lads." (19/11/09)
