Buzz won't be playing in Lisbon next week after his red card against Sportingin the first leg, but he fully expects his team mates to finish the job off and reach the last 16 of this season's Europa Cup. To Infinity and beyond !! Buzz says: "I think it is the first straight red of my career. Now that I have watched the video of it I think it is a bit harsh as I don't really go across him and I don't tackle but we knew they would go easily to the ground so I should have done better. It is difficult to say if the red card and the penalty was the right decision but it was a bit harsh. It was a 50/50 but it didn't go my way this time. I think we can get the result in Lisbon definitely. If we start well we can score over there. Hopefully I will only have a one game ban and I will be back for the next round because I am really positive that we will go through. We scored two but we could have scored about four and maybe had a penalty awarded as well. We created opportunities so I think we can score a goal over there.” (18/02/10) Sylvain could be back for the city game, as he has trained all week sine he injured a hamstring against AEK Athens. Sylvain says: “I'm not really looking at one fixture because the first two weeks after my injury I thought it would keep me away for another week or a couple of weeks – but it's been longer than I thought. I started training on Monday. I don't think it's the longest injury I've had in my career but it's very frustrating. I've got no choice but to get on with it and make sure I come back ready and stronger than I was before. I will just try my best to be fit and ready as quick as possible, and then it's the manager's choice.” (15/01/10) Sylvain played in the Pompey FA Cup winners team in 2008 and will have mixed emotions when he returns to Fratten Park after joining Everton just a month ago. Sylvain says: “I knew I had to play them at some point so it’s not a problem for me. I’ll be happy to be there, I left a lot of friends and I left on really good terms with the players and the staff, so it will be nice to go back. It’s part of the job, and if I left on bad terms it may have been difficult for me, but it’s not the case, so it will be a pleasure. You never know. I had a bad reception from the fans at St James’ Park and also from the Manchester City fans, so hopefully this time it will be different. But my dad always tells me that when the fans boo you, it’s a sign of love. If they ignore you, it means they don’t care. So if they boo or applaud, I will take it as a sign of love.” (26/09/09) New boy Sylvain Distin is telling his old club Man Sittehhh that they have to long a long way to go to forge the togetherness he is now enjoying with the Blues. They may have all the money in the world for their footy mercenaries to enjoy, but the Blues have the experience of playing together for a long time and finishing back to back fifth in the Premiership. Bring it on fella's, bring it on. Sylvain says: "When you have players who have played together for a long time, that is a plus and it is not just getting players – it is about getting the right players. Everton have proved that they can do it but they know it will be tough. That is not due to Everton, that is due to Manchester City who have invested a lot of money. That has got nothing to do with Everton; they haven’t sold their best players or have a financial problem. The competition will be tougher but that suits us great. If you want to be in the top seven or eight you will have to fight hard because apart from the top four there are four or five other teams who are really going to be after good times." (08/09/09) Bainsey Knows a good centre half when he sees one. Bainsey says: "When you're playing with someone like Sylvain, you know there isn't going to be any problems with him settling in. He slotted in and played very well. It's just a matter of him getting to know us, and us getting to know him." (02/09/09)
