Its been a hard few years for James Vaughan both on and off the field. As well as coping with his injury worries, he also lost his Grandmother a few months back. Vaughny's first strike since December 2007 against Burnley yesterday was greeted by a tribute to his much loved Gran. Well played Vaughny and lets hope 2010 brings a decent run in the side injury free. Vaughny says: "A few months back my grandmother died and I had a tattoo put on my wrist, and that goal was to commemorate her really. She was a very big part of my life and a strong person leading me forward in my football, so it was important to pay my respects to her. I hope this next year coming I can stay injury free, try and get match fit and try and help Everton as much as I can." (29/12/09) It may have only been three minutes, but Vaughny's appearance in injury time in the 1-1 draw with Brum was a a big step on the road back to fitness for the speedy striker. Vaughny just wants to knuckle down and get back to full fitness, but he is still unsure where he will be playing his footy in January, after his loan spell at Derby was cut short a few months back due to his injury. Vaughny says: "It feels good to be back. I have been training for a couple of weeks now so to finally get some game time, though it was short, was nice. The crowd at Goodison are always brilliant with me. They always back me so I was glad to be able to run out in front of them again. Being injured is never nice for a player but to have as many injuries as I have had recently has been tough. Hopefully now though I can put it all behind me and I hope that is the last injury for me for a very long time. At the moment I am not sure where I will be in January," he revealed. "My main target is to get back in the first team. I
will do whatever it takes to make sure that happens. If that means going
out on loan for a while that is fine with me. I am also happy if it means
staying at Everton to train with the first team then play with the reserves.
I am just happy to do whatever the gaffer wants me to do in order to get
back on track." (23/12/09) James Vaughan has returned to Everton after the forward once again has been cursed with injury. Vaughny has a small tear in his cartilage, and the Blues record breaking goal scorer has come back to Goodison for treatment. Derby County have waxed lyrical of the way the Blues have handled the situation, which to Evertonians is no surprise. Its called class, Rafa take note you turd !! Some Dude From Derby says: "We have been fortunate in dealing with Everton on this because they have been extremely flexible and very helpful," Adam Pearson told the Derby Evening Telegraph. Obviously, for us to be able to come out of the loan without having to pay any money on it and therefore freeing a loan space up for another player while James gets fit is helpful. It is a fantastic
gesture from Everton who, as normal, have handled themselves in a professional
way. James is very, very keen to come back here. He enjoyed the experience
and the manager saw enough of him in training to know exactly what type
of lad he is and what his character is. We think he is a good addition
to the team." (25/10/09) Vaughny has left the Blues not to Boro as first thought, but to Derby County, thankfully though only on a three month loan deal. Rams Boss and ex shite player Nigel Clough is ecstatic over the deal, and thankful to Moyesy and Blue Bill for making it happen. Nigel the ex smelly shite says: "This is a terrific bit of business for us; James is a good player with an excellent attitude and tons of ability. He is also different to anything else we have at the football club at this moment, so will add some variety to our attack. He is strong, quick and brave and knows how to look after himself on the pitch. We are grateful to David Moyes, Bill Kenwright and Everton for allowing him to come here; I think they know we do things properly and will take good care of him. There were a number of other clubs in our division interested in James, so it is a big boost for us and Derby County in general that he has decided to come here.” (18/09/09) James Vaughan has joined Boro on loan as Moyesy wants his young front man to get some first team games under his belt, and his chances at Goodison for the foreseeable future will be limited. With Jo, King Louis and the returning Yak all competing for places, Vaughny would have spent most of the season keeping his arse warm on the bench. The high flying Championship side will be able to give James some first team action, but no doubt our record breaking goal scorer will be back in the Royal Blue soon. Moyesy says: "We think it would benefit James to get some games under his belt. We haven't been able to provide that for him, and he has missed a lot of football, so we wouldn't be opposed to letting him go out on loan." (16/09/09) James Vaughan it is feared has broken down again with a knee injury after pulling out of the England U21 Squad late last week. It was reported on the FA's Official site that Jimmy had pulled out with a 'knee injury'. He has failed to make the bench in any of our Premiership fixtures this season, and his only action was in the Sigma victory as a substitute in the Europa League back in August. (07/09/09)
