Tim Cahill believes the Everton factor is the jealousy of the Premiership. The Blues have proven season in season out that you do not have to spend hundreds of millions of pounds to be successful, and with another fifth placed finish behind us, Tiny has a point. With the likes of Chelski, manure and the shite up to their ears in debt, we all can't wait for the banks to come calling to make the league a fairer place. Points per cash point spent, there is only one true winner, the Toffeemen. COYB Tiny says: "When you see clubs like Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea spending their hundreds of millions and Arsenal you can understand why they are there and why, when they are not winning the Premier League they are getting questioned. For ourselves spending £20 to £30million a season and our achievement I think a lot of other chairman will prefer to be doing what we're doing. They see the manager and the players believing and wanting to play in every game. Whether we have got knocks and kicks, the passion and the character what we show in every game. Everyone said we would fall away at the end of the season because we've got an FA Cup final to look at. But you've seen every player playing in every single game wanting to finish fifth. We could have taken our foot of the gas and finished sixth and still qualified for Europe but as players it doesn't have the same ring to it if we'd finished sixth and it wouldn't have been as successful a season if we'd finished sixth." (05/06/09) Tim is in a shortlist of 12 players for the inaugural Australian PFA Footballer of the Year award. The winner will be announced on 11 June 2009. The 12 nominees are: Tim Cahill, Travis Dodd, Eugene Galekovic, Mile Jedinak, Harry Kewell, Scott McDonald, Craig Moore, Kevin Muscat, Lucas Neill, Sasa Ognenovski, Mark Schwarzer and Shane Smeltz. (05/05/09) Blues midfielder Tim Cahill was blown away by the Everton fans before, during and after yesterdays historic FA Cup Semi Final win against manure. Tiny was the unlucky Blues player to miss his penalty decided himself on going first in the shoot out, and he also thanked his team mates for slotting their penalties away to fire the Blues in to the Final. Tim, no thanks needed, from the tea lady, the Manager, the players and the fans, we are all Blues and we all pull together for one of our own. COYB FTRS, Wembley here we come. Tiny says: "When we pulled up, we knew what it was to play for Everton - we saw a sea of blue and white. We have some of the most passionate fans in the world and for me, it is why you play. The atmosphere will be even better at the final. I am happy for the fans, the chairman, the gaffer, the staff, for everyone involved in the Club. I missed the penalty but I felt I had to lead the team out there. I have been here a long time and I had to take responsibility and step up. When I smacked it I wanted the ball to get into the back of the net as soon as possible. It didn't go in but this team always get each other out of it. It is about taking the opportunity. Today, T-How (Tim Howard) was exceptional. He had an indifferent career at Man United and we were lucky enough to scoop him up. I am just so happy that we won, it's just amazing. It doesnt seem real." (20/04/09) Phil Neville, Tim Howard and Louis Saha may have played in the odd FA Cup Semi Final whilst at Sunday's opponents manure, but fans may forget that Tim Cahill played and scored in the 2004 Semi Final whilst at Millwall, and he is keen to do it again. The Blues midfield cum front man cant wait for Sunday, and ironically nor can I. Tiny says: "I have been there before and it was an amazing experience and hopefully I can have that experience again. It was something special because of the way we did it. It was pretty much a dream run and it's something that will probably never happen again. We had such a good camaraderie and team spirit and getting to the final against Manchester United and losing - we were just happy being there." (17/04/09) With Jo cup-tied, Tim could end up playing further forward for Everton at Wembley on Sunday. Whatever position he plays, the Aussie International is confident Everton are coming into form at the right time with 7 goals in the last 2 games to beat United. Tim says: "We feel a lot of confidence at the minute and we've been training really well. We are playing with a purpose and the character of the lads is really starting to show. It's just so good to be a part of it. We are growing week in, week out and getting stronger on and off the pitch. We take a few knocks here and there but we are managing them. The lads are getting through 90 minutes, and overall we have to be very pleased. It was nice to get on the score sheet against Villa, it always is. I've been playing a bit more of a defensive role in recent weeks and my objective at the minute is to play for the team. If I end up getting opportunities, I'll get my goals and they are bonus which I really enjoy. Hopefully there will be a few more chances to come and I'll stick them in the back of the net." (16/04/09) I think every Premiership club would love Tim Cahill in their side, but Tiny only wants to play for the Blues and he realises what an honour it is to do so. When asked whether he would ever join the shite, me think hell has more chance of freezing over, or Robert Mugagbe becoming a peace envoy before that ever happens. COYB FTRS. Tiny says: ""Never. Never, never (would I join the shite). No money in this world could convince me to play for Liverpool (the shite). That's not a lack of respect for Liverpool (the shite) supporters or the football club. It's respect for the Everton supporters. You just can't do that. It goes against everything that I stand for. No chance. Every time I score, the passion comes out and I try to relay that back to the fans and to the players and the staff at how grateful I am to be playing for such a good club. I am part of the furniture at Everton but I don't take it for granted. I've got a chance of the FA Cup. I've got a lot of years left at Everton and hopefully I can make it longer, but it depends what the club thinks of you." (06/04/09) Australian Coach Pim Veerbek is sure Tiny will return to Goodison Park later this week fitter and fresher than when he left. The Blues midfielder was left on the bench as an unused sub, as the Socceroo's beat Uzbekistan 2-0, and Pim is sure Tiny is ready to go against the Pie Eaters this weekend. Mmmmm the twenty four hour flight from Sydney might just poop him out a tadge though Pim. Pim Veerbek says: "I waited for the moment to bring on Timmy, but it wasn't necessary, it's better to keep him fresh for his club. We like to thank Everton for that because of the possibility of him coming to play for our team if necessary. I am pleased with my colleague (Moyesy) this time." (02/04/09) Tiny who was left out against Pompey in the Blues away defeat, has been passed fit to travel back to Oz for his teams World Cup Qualifier against Uzbekistan. Basil Rathbone the Blues physio is confident that the calf strain Tiny picked up has now gone, and Wigan in a fortnight will be the midfielder's return in a Blue shirt. Lets hope so, and lets hope Oz's Management team give Tiny a blow considering the nature of the opposition his homeland are playing. Basil says: "He picked up a calf strain in the first half of the game against Stoke, so we took him off at half time. He didn't recover in time for Portsmouth though. It's difficult because we've got a lot of injuries and it's so tempting to chuck the players back in too soon. Obviously he's gone away with the Australian guys. They'll evaluate it over there and hopefully he'll come back and be available for the Wigan game. It wasn't such a serious injury but muscle strains take time. I know the Australian medical people well, and I know they'll look after him in the right way." (25/03/09) Alan Ball once famously said 'Once Everton have touched you, nothing is the same', well it seems that mantra has been took on by our very own Tim Cahill. Tim has stressed how much he loves the cub, and he has no intention of leaving the Blues for anyone else. With the FA Cup Semi Final on the horizon, Tim is focused on winning it, it not for himself, but for the fans and Moyesy, who he thanks for taking that chance on him back in 2004. Tim I love you, and if it was humanely possible I would father your children, strange, you bet I am. Tiny says: "I’m not interested in other clubs. Opportunities may arise, but I’m lucky enough to have an agent who only cares about my wellbeing, being fit and playing for my club, which is perfect for me. Other managers say now that they wanted me, but he was the one who took a chance on me. The manager and the club have made me what I am. We’re desperate to do well in the FA Cup this season. It gives us a big opportunity to give something back to the club, to the manager, to the chairman and to the fans, who have been starved of silverware for so long." (23/03/09) Tiny Tim's young lad was that excited that his Dad and his Everton team mates are off to Wembley next month, that he decided to go head over heels literally. Click here for a right Goodison you've been framed moment. (10/03/09) Tim has answered criticism of the way he plays by Sam Allardyce with a tongue in cheek and is excited about the FA Cup quarter final this weekend. Aren't we all. Tim says: "I'm excited about Sunday. It's a big opportunity for the football club and the players. We get a chance to see what level we can lift our bodies to. I take it as a compliment. Sam is a very good Premier League manager and he’s where he is at because he’s a legend in the game. So I respect his comments and I respect the team. It’s nice of him to think of me. I think it’s a good point. It’s a very hard place to go. We knew before how difficult it would be. There’s always a confidence. There was a confidence against Blackburn although we new it was going to be ugly. It’s exciting thinking about what potential awaits us" (06/03/09) Oh his timing is superb, remember Rafa's rant before his shite side drew with lowly Stoke, now you have Fat Sam's, sorry Big Sam's foot in mouth moment regarding Tim Cahill's deceiving referee's, the day before the mighty Blues take on his Blackburn side. Sam believes that our Tim deceives the ref's the way he jumps, and challenges opposing defenders in the air. Sam you knob, think about it. He is Australian, kangaroo's come from Australia, and he has inherited this uncanny habit of been able to spring in the air like his indigenous furry friends. My tenner is on Tiny to shut Big Fat Sam up tonight with the first goal, get in there. COYB. Moyesy says: "You have to trust the referees to make the decision. Tim does not have a terrible record with challenges. Tim plays the way he does, and the referees make the decisions. And I don't see them picking out Tim Cahill more than anybody else. I think Tim is rated very highly by everybody in football who understand his capabilities. There are very few managers who would not want to have him in their team or squad." Fat Sam says: "Cahill's best asset is that he has a tremendous leap from a standing start but he also uses his body to great effect and referees don't spot it. Anyone else would be conceding foul after foul so he is very clever in the way he does it. Every player commits fouls - it is whether the referee sees it. And sometimes they don't if the player is as clever as he is. Tim Cahill uses his body and it is not often he concedes a free-kick. But most of the time we see him playing the man before the ball. It is certainly very difficult to spot from the referee's point of view and for the spectators but you pick up on it if you have been in the game as long as we have. If Keith Hackett has not picked it up and passed it on, it is not my position to do it." (04/03/09) He just keeps doing it, as Tiny Tim netted again on Saturday, bagging a goal and three more points for the Blues. Tiny is right in saying that the boys are getting their just desserts from the effort the whole squad is putting into it. Keep it up Tiny, you are the best Aussie since Kylie, or maybe Dannie, or Dame Edna !! Tiny says: "The main aim for us is to take it one game at a time. We're such a committed squad and we go out and give all our effort on the pitch and leave it on there. Maybe that is why we have more injuries than others, but credit to the manager and the players for the effort we put in. I suppose I'm a defensive, attacking, striking midfielder. It doesn't really matter - I'm just happy that we're getting the goals and we're playing well. We were pretty down in the week because of Mikel but we've picked ourselves up and got the result we wanted." (02/03/09) Tim Cahill, now one of the 'arl arses in the team has praised the youngsters for coming into the team and playing well. Although in the quarter finals of the FA Cup for the first time in yonks, Tim is keeping his and the club's feet firmly on the ground. Tim says: “The kids have definitely done well for us in the FA Cup so far this season, not just the ones who are in the team but on the bench too. They’re not ‘kids’ any more, they’re starting to step up to the responsibility. They’re treated the same as us and that’s the best thing. You’ve seen with Jo, anyone who comes to this football club is welcomed with open arms and it’s about helping each other and trying to play as a team. They’re showing a lot of maturity, especially Gosser and Rodders playing the way they’ve played. It’s like they’ve been here for ages. I think the best thing for them is to keep playing football and the good times will come. They’re part of the hard times and the good times and hopefully now they’re making the game far better. The gaffer’s always known they’ve been there. That’s the thing about football, you always have to wait for your opportunity and that’s the reason we’ve got these good lads coming through. The gaffer picks his boys well and he understands their attitudes and you find that attitudes go a long way and you see that on the pitch. We’ve beaten Liverpool and a great team in Aston Villa, but we’re taking things one game at a time, even though we’re in the last eight. I’ve been to the final before with Millwall and lost to Manchester United but the biggest thing for us is to go as a far as we can in this competition and know that we’ve got a really good chance.” (17/02/09) Whilst most of Tiny's team mates will be putting their feet up this week, the Australian International is already Tokyo bound where he will meet up with the Socceroo's as they face Japan in Saitama, in a World Cup Qualifier. Tiny though has took time out to publicly thank Dr. Kim Slater who was the quack who in Tiny's words saved his career, with a revolutionary technique of repairing and remodelling stressed bones. Kim there are also forty thousand Goodison devotee's who would also like to thank you, and if your ever in Merseyside on the lash, The Lennon Bar here we come !! Tiny says: "Kim did revolutionary surgery on my foot, which I knew was the right thing to do. He's renowned for saving people's careers in football, rugby and cricket - the science looked good in theory, but it really came down to the kind of person he is and the honesty he showed me. He's a humble guy but deserves a lot of recognition. For me it's all good." (08/02/09) The results are in and Tim has no fracture, just severe bruising. Everton are waiting to see how Tim is before deciding to risk him in the game at Old Trafford or keep him until the FA Cup replay on Wednesday night. Head physio Mick Rathbone is also waiting on test results. Basil says: “Tim received a kick to the inside of his ankle and although it doesn’t look too serious we’ve sent him for a precautionary X-ray. We’re now awaiting the results.” (30/01/09) Three strikers out, and after our stand in front man netted against The Arse we all sighed as he left the pitch in pain, and later the ground on crutches. Don't worry though as according to Moyesy, Tiny's injury is nothing to be overly concerned about. Hopefully after a few days rest, manure will be next on Tiny's radar, and their defensive record to boot. Moyesy says: "Tim Cahill is doing a magic job for us. He has got a goalscoring record like a centre-forward. He is scoring like a striker should. I wouldn't say he is making it look easy but he is doing great. He went off injured but I don't think it is too bad. He took a kick on the foot but hopefully it is not too bad." (29/01/09) Tim Cahill is urging his team mates to concentrate on their own game, and not what the shite may have up their wizard sleeves in the FA Cup encounter at Analfield today. Tim who scored the equaliser on Monday night, believes that if the Blues do get through, then they can start thinking about going all the way to Wembley. Lets hope so Tim, COYB. Tiny says: "It doesn't matter what Liverpool (shite) do. Our biggest problem will be if we let them play and worry too much about them. It doesn't matter what they change - we'll always keep the same team and play the best we can. We try to work on a lot of aspects of our game and then see how we can hinder them and get as much out of it as we can. At the moment I feel it's all about this game. Just win this game. If you beat a team like Liverpool in a cup competition like this though, then really, hypothetically speaking, you should go on to win it. But it doesn't work like that. I feel the gaffer trusts me to play up there," he said. A lot of people have been talking about bringing in strikers and if we do then so be it - I'll go back to wherever he wants to play me." (25/01/09) Tim Cahill scored his 3rd goal at anfield to equal Dixie Dean's record in the 1-1 draw last night, but dedicated the goal to the fans. Tim says: "Has everyone started calling me Dixie? I don't know about that - to be honest, I'm more concerned about what the goal meant for our team and supporters. You work so hard chasing after defenders and great players like Steven Gerrard and we take great pride from getting a point because Liverpool are a great team. They deserve to be top of the league. We deserved a point and Pepe Reina deserves a lot of credit as he made a couple of world class saves. I thought I'd scored in the first half with a header but the spring on him to get to it was ridiculous. But we got there in the end and I am really happy for our fans. I'm lucky to have scored at Anfield three times now but I didn't want to get anyone in trouble by celebrating too much. I just wanted to see if we could score another. I didn't want to show any disrespect to Liverpool whatsoever. You get your rewards by working hard and keeping going. Our fans should enjoy this moment but so should Liverpool's - it was a draw and both sides deserved the point. We'll come back here on Sunday and we'll prepare the same way. We'll do what we think is right and we'll try to put right any mistakes we think we made." (20/01/09) With The Yak, Louis, Vaughany and Big Vic all being out for the last few weeks, Tiny Tim has ploughed a lone furrow up front with spectacular results. Moyesy like all Blues would not be without our Australian wizard, and with his new lease of life up front the Everton boss is once again delighted with Tiny's work ethic and dedication to duty. Moyesy says: "Tim has done a really good job for us in the last few weeks. He has relished playing up front and maybe that’s the reason he has come back into top form again - he’s enjoying playing with a little bit more freedom. It’s giving him the opportunity to attack more and it’s released him from the job he’d had to do before. We couldn’t be happier with him. I’d go as far as saying his performances have been the best from centre-forward that we have had this season. His effort has been tremendous. Maybe it took him a bit longer than we expected to get over the injury. But he’s looking sharp and working hard. The way he goes about his job has been pleasing to see. I have always thought that Tim had the talent to play as centre forward. I’m not surprised he has done so well in that role." (09/01/09) Tim doesn't care that he is being asked to play upfront on his own. He says the team are all in it together and as long as the good results keep coming he'll play anywhere. Tim says: "All players are playing in different positions because of the lack of numbers but we’re all in there for the cause. You see where we’re sat in the table and hopefully we can progress even higher. It’s a lot harder work. It’s obviously a lot of mileage covered, but every player runs in every position. I just think that for the gaffer to have the faith in me to play up there on my own means I’m going to take that opportunity and do it for the team. It’s very difficult but I get help from Fellaini and the lads coming forward. Felli is a great lad and a great player. He covers a lot of ground and he seems to be attacking a lot and we’re playing off each other, but we’re trying to get the most out of ourselves for the team and it’s starting to work like that and the team is benefiting from it. I’m not in a win-win situation – I have to work very hard to keep my place and put pressure on defences, because I feel that I need to work hard for the team." (31/12/08) I'd Do Anything For Everton Fans Tim says it's an honour to play for Everton, especially when all the players are working their socks off for the team as they did in the win at Siteeh. Tim says: "We just wanted to get ourselves back up after that result. It is all about playing for the team and playing for each other. Wherever you are asked to play, you do it because it is an honour to play for this club. Playing up front on your own is quite difficult but I'd do anything for this team, and anything for the fans and the club. We ran ourselves into the ground and we got ourselves a result we deserved. It’s about being fit and working hard and closing everyone down which we did all afternoon – sometimes it’s not the prettiest but we got the result. We were very unfortunate against Aston Villa but we’ve got a team here that wants to play week in week out regardless of injuries or anything else – so we just have to take the positives and all play to our strengths. And I’m just happy we got a great result." (16/12/08) Tim Cahill was full of praise of his team mates after the 1-0 win over sittah. Tim says: "We have a team that wants to play well every week, regardless of the injury situation. Sometimes we don't play the prettiest football but that doesn't matter if you get the points and score the goals like we did against City. We are a fit team and we keep going and we run teams down. We run ourselves into the ground and we get the results." (15/12/08) Tiny Tim today dismissed reports that he will up sticks and head on the Yellow Brick Road back to Oz, when his Blues deal runs out in 2012. The midfielder would one day love to play football back in his homeland, but he hopes when his contract expires he will still have a few years left in the tank, and hopefully still at the Blues. Tiny says: "Everyone knows that I am fiercely proud of my roots and that perhaps one day I may play club football back home but to say that I will be doing it at the end of my current deal is simply not true. I am 28 years old and, with all due respect, when my contract expires I would hope that I will still have a few more years left at this level of the game. The English Premier League is the best in the world and it has the best players so I have absolutely no plans to move on." (25/11/08) Tim limped off in the second half of the Boro game. He is struggling with a heel problem, which may need surgery. Even so he has flown out Bahrain for Australia’s World Cup qualifier on Wednesday. Moyesy says: “I thought that Tim played very well, especially in the first half. We used him and Fellaini in the middle today and we asked them to take turns, one of them going forward and one of them staying back. I thought it worked well. But Tim has a foot injury which is still a problem for him at the moment and you could see he was limping a bit towards the end. He had injections before the game and he was desperate to play, that’s what we like about him. But he has got a sore heel. I’m not sure that rest alone will be a cure. It’s not directly related to his foot problems in the past, but it’s maybe been a result of the way he has had to be rehabilitated and change things around a bit.” (17/11/08) Fellaini Can Help Everton's Euro Push Tim is happy with new boy Fellaini and thinks he can help Everton's push up the table. Tim says: I'm all for it, I think the best thing for me is to welcome players like that with open arms. I'm happy for him because with a price tag like that people expect him to come in and do things straight away. It's up to us as lads to help him settle and make sure he scores more goals. Our aspiration is to finish in the top eight and then build on it. The sooner we get near to the top of the table then anything can happen because as you can see everyone is beating everyone. I feel that everyone wants to win something and everyone wants to do well, anywhere in the top eight in the next three to four months, then anything can happen." (13/11/08) Tim thinks the goal threat of Maro Fellaini and himself will give Everton the edge over teams, as they look to move up the table. Tim says: “I suppose we’re both very attacking so it will be a case of taking it in turns when it comes to going forward. Sometimes you might see both of us in the box at the same time but I think it’s going to be a double threat and we can really do some damage to teams. “They’re not only going to have to worry about me, they’re going to have to worry about Fellaini plus the likes of Yakubu and Saha – there are so many players – Pienaar, Ossie and Mikel so they’re going to have to do a lot of homework on keeping us quiet.” “To be honest I haven’t had a chance to play too much football but I feel he’s a great footballer and he’s doing really well. It’s great to see him scoring goals because obviously it will help him to settle quicker. I think it’s brilliant. It takes a bit of pressure off me, I can relax and play a bit more football and if I get my goals it’s a plus. The main focal point for me is the team, trying to get as much for the team and keeping fit – just getting into the team at the minute – it’s exciting.” (01/11/08) David Moyes is not a happy man when it comes talking about the FA. He was bitterly disappointed with the result of Tim's appeal. It means Tim will miss the next three games starting with Newcastle tomorrow. Moyesy says: “You’d probably hope that maybe there would be an ex-referee on the panel, you would hope there would be somebody from the football side, maybe even an ex-manager. “I think we had somebody from the UniBond League on it and somebody from the North Durham Association, I think we had an ex-secretary on the panel; if that’s giving the clubs and managers respect then I would have to argue that.” "Maybe the respect is a one way thing and it's just coming from the clubs." (03/10/08) Surprise, surprise Tiny Tim's appeal for his red card in the Merseyside Derby has been rejected by the FA. Tiny will now miss the games against The Skunks, The Arse, and manure in the coming weeks. Respect my arse, its just the Old Boys network clubbing together and looking after their own if any one dares to criticise them. Moyesy your next, a touchline ban me thinks for your rightful criticism of the officials at Stoke. It stinks, to high heaven, right I'm on one now, Clattenburg, Hacket, Riley your all bent, .....................er allegedly. (30/09/08) As expected the Blues have lodged an appeal against Tiny Tim's sending off in the Derby defeat on Saturday. Tiny was given his marching orders after a challenge on Xabi Knobby Alonso, which warranted a yellow and no more. TV Camera's have picked up Riley saying into his microphone, that he will give him a red, after Tiny walked away from the child like referee. Experts believe (that's Jogger and Me) that the ref should have gone yellow, yellow, red if that was the case. No doubt the FA will back their man to the hilt, like they did with Cluttenburg last season. Respect, you are having a laugh. (29/09/08) Tim is facing a 3 match ban after being sent off by Riley in the Derby. Moyesy is going to ask the ref to look at the sending off again, as he didn't think it was a red card in a million years. Moyesy says: "I did not think anyone in the ground felt that the tackle deserved a red card. I certainly didn't. I was worried that he had not walked to the referee and I was trying to get him to turn around and go back because he was going to get booked, so let's get on with it. To then see a red I felt was a wrong decision. We will ask the referee about it." (28/09/08) Tim realises the importance a derby win is for the fans and hopes to celebrate a goal by doing some boxing at the corner flag. COYB. Tim says: “It came from Archie Thompson, the Australia striker, who did something similar when he had a baby boy called Axel. I had a boy as well and incorporated it as a celebration for our kids. It’s a bit of fun between us but now it’s also become a trademark from the World Cup and a trademark in Australia and there are little kids everywhere doing it. We based it on the Nintendo Wii. Archie had a kung-fu celebration and I just spiced it up a bit.” Beating Liverpool would be the ideal lift and that is the only way we can look at it. That’s the beauty of this game. The seriousness of this game goes beyond football, it goes into peoples’ livelihoods. “I lived in Liverpool for four years so I understand what it’s like to walk down the street to get a carton of milk after a derby. And your friends and family have to put up with it as well. “I get loads of banter, especially from the Liverpool fans, but it’s a compliment when you get a bit of bitterness because it shows you’re a threat and I’ve had a habit of scoring against Liverpool a few times. “It’s all about passion. Players like Alan Stubbs, Duncan Ferguson and Tony Hibbert, players who really know what it is like to be a blue, really helped me understand when I first came to the club. You can’t just play in a derby. You have to know what goes on and now I’m passing that on to Fellaini, Castillo and Saha.” (27/09/08) Moyes Is The Reason We Are A Top Team The Australian international has said that the manager of the People's Club is one of the best in the Premiership. Tim says: “David Moyes is one of the best bosses in the Premier League and I don’t think there’s any manager who could have done what he has at Everton. Look at what he paid for players like me and Mikel Arteta. It wasn’t much more than £4m for both of us. He should take a lot of credit for putting his faith in players who’ve put us in a situation where we are playing European football.” (21/09/08) Another 90 minutes for Tim after his long lay off. He is in a very positive mood for the second leg. Tim says: "For me I just need to get as many minutes under my belt as possible and try and be ready for the weekend. I’m really pleased because I’ve been out for a long time so I’m pleased to get 90 minutes and we did get a good result.” “Yes, that’s the positives and we’ve got to look at taking that from the game. We probably should have got a few more goals because we were very eager to get something from tonight because we know going there will be very difficult. They played very well so credit to them but I just think we’re a lot more disappointed not to get the result.” (19/09/08) Mikel Arteta has taken this great team spirit thing at Everton to another level. He really loves Tim. Mikel says: "I know Tim has been through a lot of pain and it’s been a long time for him. I’m so happy for him, I really love him, he’s a great character for the team. We really needed him back and he couldn’t have found a better way to have come back than score the winner and we’re really pleased for him because he deserved that. He’s got a great habit of doing that. He’s got great timing in the box, he can head it and score goals. If he can continue to do that for us it will be brilliant." (17/09/08) New Signing Cahill Ready For Liege After a goalscoring return to the first team, Tim is rearing to go in the UEFA Cup on Thursday night. Tim says: "I’m delighted, but really I’m just glad to be a part of the squad again. It was a surprise to start, but if the manager is going to ask me if I’m up for starting, there is no way that I’m going to say ‘no’. I didn’t expect to play. All I did was keep myself fit, worked really hard in training and wanted to give him the option of being able to play me if I was needed. I’m fortunate that the manager has that belief in me. Then it was down to me taking the opportunity on the pitch. “I felt like one of the new lads as I had not played in
such a long time. Now we are looking forward to another European adventure.
Standard Liege are a very good team but we are doing our homework on them.
I'm just pleased
to be part of this great squad. Hopefully we can now kick on from this." Moyesy says: "That's what Tim does for us. It wasn't a gamble because he has been training really well. But it was a gamble because he has had no match practice. What Tim does is he has an influence on games and scores goals and he has done that today." (15/09/08) What a lift Tim has given everybody at the club. He comes back to the starting line-up today at Stoke with a match winning performance. Good to have you back Tim. Moyesy says: "I had known for a couple of days that he might be in with a shout of playing. He has looked good in training but it was just that match practice that he was lacking. However, I thought he would be okay and I put him in there and he gave the kind of performance you expect from him. He is a very good player and he scores some very important goals for us." (14/09/08) Moyesy is delighted to hear that his midfield talisman is back in full training, and even though his return to the first team is not known, Moyesy is just happy that Tiny looks sharp and fit. Tell you also who looks fit that bird, yer know, oh go on click here then to see her..... Moyesy says: "Tim has started training again and we are glad to have him back with us. We have missed him a great deal since he has been out. We have followed instructions from his surgeon and the early signs we have seen from Tim are good. He looks really sharp and fit and he’s obviously looked after himself during the time he was out. I don’t know when he’ll be available again but he’s coming along nicely just now. The one thing we won’t do, though, is take any risks with him.” (09/08/08) Mick Rathbone has given the Everton fans the news they've been wanting to hear all summer. Basil says: “Tim’s back in full training. He’s been training the last couple of days in fact. He got the go-ahead from his surgeon in Sydney, who we sent the latest batch of X-rays to a week or so ago. He’s emailed us back having reviewed them and he’s delighted with the progress of the repair.” (03/09/08) Everton are making sure Tim is fully fit before bringing him back to the first team squad. He hoped to be ready for the start of the season, but it now looks like he'll play in September. Tim says: “I’m taking it steady and leaving nothing to chance. But I’m getting closer every day. When I get the go ahead, I guarantee I’ll be back in great shape and hopefully in a position to make an immediate impact for both Everton and Australia. “The longer you are out, the more you appreciate what it means to play at the top level and there’s no doubt in my mind I’ll be back bigger and better than ever. The operation went well but the rehabilitation has taken a little longer than I’d have liked. “I’d planned to be back for the start of the Premier League season but it wasn’t to be. There’s no way I’ll be rushing back before I’m ready – that would be no good for myself, Everton or Australia.” (21/08/08) Tiny is gutted that the Blues have lost AJ to Fulham, as he is one a close mate, and two a excellent centre forward. Lets just hope Moyesy gets the alleged £12m from AJ' deal, and hopefully another £20m on top to strengthen his squad, as for most Blues its definitely twitchy bum time. Tiny says: "It’s a sad day if he goes, because he’s a close friend. I don’t read the newspapers so I don’t really know what’s happening. But it’s always sad to see Everton players leave." (29/07/08) Tim was a surprising addition to the squad in the USA when he flew in from Australia to step up his training to be in contention for a starting line up when the season begins. Steve Round says: "He’s running now and everything seems to be going on the right track, touch wood, so we’re looking to have him fit ready for the season." (28/07/08) Moyesy will have to do without Tiny Tim for the first few weeks of the season, as our Australian midfielder's foot is still on the mend. Tiny is off to see his specialist in Oz, so that will rule him out till at least early September. Specialist in Oz hey, can't be bad, I have to trudge off to me quacks and sit there with Dot Cotton and her mates for three hours till I get seen to. Moyesy says: "It is the same for Tim Cahill and I am not expecting him to be fit for the start of the season. He is going over to Australia to see the specialist for a last check but it is so far, so good." (18/07/08) Ten Goals In Twenty Eight Games Back At Finch Farm recovering from surgery, Tim has put a very positive look on his recent injuries. Tim says: “I’m a footballer, I’m very young and injuries happen. I’m thankful that I’ve played about 350 games in my career already so I’m trying to look at the positives. There’s nothing else for me to do but just concentrate on football and my family and the biggest thing is that football is my passion and I enjoy it. “Whether it’s getting fit or staying fit, I’m always involved in it. When I came back from that injury last season I scored 10 goals in 28 games so for me that’s not frustrating. I missed a couple of games towards the end of last season but hopefully I’ll come back and do the same. “We’ve got more goals in the side now and we need that from everywhere. Whether it’s Joseph Yobo, Joleon Lescott or Ossie, everyone needs to pitch in. It just makes it easier on the team and takes the pressure off the strikers as well. If we get more goals it’s a bonus.” (09/07/08) Tim cahill is back at Finch farm to see the physio's and get back into his rehab. It's the first time Tim has had a break in the Summer for yonks. Hopefully this will help him to get fit again for the start of the season. Tim says: “I spent a bit of time in Australia and also went back to Samoa and did a lot of work with the kids there. I pretty much just grounded myself again. It was about recuperating and spending a lot of time with my wife and kids. It’s been enjoyable and it was great to see some sun. I saw Jags and Bainsey in Dubai. Bainesy looks like he's been sunbathing in a fridge. Hope he gets a tan before he gets back. It’s back to reality now. The operation was a success, but I’m playing everything by ear. I think the biggest thing for myself is just taking my time and not trying to rush it. I will just train hard and wait for them to give me the all clear. If I can get myself ready for the season that’s great. We’ve got such a good team and hopefully I’ll play some part in the start or near the start. There's going to be a fight for places again this year and I’m raring to go. I think I’m fortunate that I seem to get injured towards the end of the season. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise because it means I can do all my rehab in the summer. I can’t afford to set targets though. I’ve broken it a few times and now I’ve had quite radical surgery. The good thing is I’m experienced in this part and I’ve kept myself really fit. Even if I can’t run I can still work out on the bikes and on other parts of my game.” (21/06/08) Full Interview On EvertonTV
Tim underwent surgery on his troubled foot in Australia a couple of weeks ago after missing the last seven games of the season and is now back on schedule to be fit for the start of the season. Tim says: "Everything is going right on schedule. I have seen the specialists again, and they let me go in the swimming pool. I had a long session which was pretty tiring. The swelling has gone down, and everything looks really good. If I had to sit out a whole season to get the foot right I would have," he said, "but I'm very passionate about football and I don't like to sit on the sidelines. I understood what was going to happen. I played 20-odd games, scored 10 goals, played in Uefa Cup again and helped my club finish in Europe again. I've got six years of football left." (16/05/08) Tiny Tim is flying the globe to find the 'ultimate procedure' to cure his problematic foot. After stints in England and Holland, Tiny is now heading back Down Under to see Australia's top foot Doc, to see if he can't sort the problem out. Tiny is staying with his family while the doc is tracked down as he was last seen at Billabong Creek wrestling a gator, shit that wasn't it !! Tiny though is hopeful that come the first game of next season he will be back in the Blues line up. Basil says: "We think that we need to go to the highest possible level and do the ‘ultimate procedure’ to make sure it doesn’t happen again. We’ve taken advice from the leading foot specialist in Britain, the leading Uefa specialist based in Amsterdam and now he is on his way to see Australia’s leading foot specialist in Sydney. It’s just a matter of trying to decide the best way to go about the surgical procedure to ensure that it doesn’t happen again. Tiny says: "I hope to be back for preseason, ready for the first game of Everton's next season. I'm just going to work hard ... and nothing's going to stop me coming back. This is one of the best places (Australia) in the world for foot specialists. I get to see my family and basically see one of the best football specialists in the world." (23/04/08) |
