Blues Fail in Cup Bid

Everton Ladies could not repeat their feat of 2008 as they lost out to Leeds Ladies 3-1 in The Premier League Cup Final at Rochdale's Spotland Ground last night.

Mo Marley's found themselves two nil down before they could get going, but a goal by Fara Williams halved the deficit. The Blues were chasing most of the game, then Leeds regained their two goal advantage to win the match and The Cup.

The Blues still have the title and the FA Cup to play for. They are currently fifth in the table, but with a ruck of games in hand they can quickly climb the table. (12/02/10)

Everton Qualify For Champions League Knockout Stage

Everton Ladies qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League after an injury time winner by Michelle Hinnigan gave the Toffees a 1-0 win over Norwegian outfit Strommen. Mo Marley's team had to beat Strommen, as the Norwegian team were top of the group on goal difference. It was looking like an exit for Everton until the last gasp winner.

Everton had won both of their earlier group games. Firstly a 3-1 win over Osijek from Croatia with goals from Toni Duggan, Fara Williams and an own goal. Plus a 7-1 romp over Estonia's Levadia Tallinn with a hatrick from Jill Scott, 2 for Natasha Dowie, and one a piece from Fara Williams and Emily Westwood. (05/08/09)
