Who To Blame Now

I am a constant visitor to the site (which is excellent by the way) and a season ticket holder in the Lower Gwladys, but this is the first time i have ever felt the urge to contribute to the mailbag. Having read many previous emails over the last few weeks i am just wondering who the Everton faithful are going to blame for last nights defeat at Hull? As the usual scapegoats of Fellani and Hibbert weren't playing??

I refer back to two emails which appeared on the site 23/11/10 from Stephen Connors and Nigel criticising Fellani and stating he is a "liability".. There is no bigger liability in the team at the moment than Cahill. In the match report from Hull, Pembo states that "Cahill is booked for bemusing reasons", he was booked as it was about his 17th foul of the game and made sure he got his wish to miss the game with the Shite on Sunday!!

Moyes also has to take some criticism for his selection last night with Rodwell starting on the right??!! He messed up and should have had the balls to whip Yak off for Gosling after we went 2-0. Piennar must play in the middle of the park on Sunday as he is the only creative force we have!!

Anyway rant over (for now) and I'm sure a performance against the Shite on Sunday will go a long way to starting a season which is quickly becoming a farce!

Real Fans

How can anybody call for Moyes to go!! Fair enough if he had done nothing for the club fair enough. However this is the man that turned the club from mid-table/relegation strugglers most seasons to a European force, people who want him out arent real fans!! The injury list is longer than the London marathon, you have to take that into account. COYB! J.K (26/11/09)

Tatters

We are in tatters. Worst performance in years last night. This is what happens with no cash for players and a threadbare squad. Kenwright, I am sorry but the blame must be put at your door. You have failed time and again to attract investment. You push cash and time to stadium projects that keep failing. You may be a blue and a nice bloke, but I just don’t think you are up to the job. Something must change, or this decline will accelerate. In recent years we have been able to say that we are improving on the pitch so thats ok. Looks to me like we have taken a few steps back, and I can see Moyes getting understandably frustrated and running out of patience.

I heard from a Goodison official via email recently that we don’t look for investors, they will come to us, and I quote “thats just how it works”. I won’t say who that was but it speaks volumes and answers the question of why Everton are such a well supported, established club, with one of the top young managers, located in a major English city, yet we are skint. There are not many other clubs with similar credentials without money. Maybe “ the way it is” so called by one of your colleagues, is not working for us. Maybe, just maybe, we would get some results by being proactive, and approaching investors, getting some time with them and explaining why Everton are a club with tonnes of opportunities to grow an investment. DO SOMETHING BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE. Because whatever you are doing now ain’t working. Mark Warren (26/11/09)

Pseudo

Hi BlueKipper,

Sorry I just wanted to check that Bluekippers ( the best everton site by a mile) editorial team had not been taken over by the pseudo Koppites at Toffeeweb.
Why are you suddenly doing a Phil Neville on Fellaini??.
I agree that the midfield has been the area of most concern during the recent run of poor results, but I see that as a result of the injuries to the creative heart of the midfield not to the efforts of the players out there, and to single Fellaini out is disgraceful. He has been head and shoulders above all the other players in midfield.
I have sometimes wondered if the moaners and back stabbers of Toffeeweb have actually been to the match or even if they are evertonians, an accusation that I know I can't place at the door of Bluekipper as I know that the Bluekippers do give loyal support. So I can only assume that you have not seen the same things as me in the recent matches. Either way, now is not the time to single out individual players, but to get behind the team and all the players and roar us back up the league and into latter rounds of the EUROPA and FA Cups.

Soft Underbelly

As we are all aware the majority of anything that might of pre season be thought of as our top players are currently under treatment or suspended and the soft underbelly of our squad has well and truly been exposed. However when you are down to the bare bones and away at Manure I would of thought the first priority would have been to have as many senior players on the pitch as possible ie if we have 3 fit strikers who are supposed to be some sort of strike force then at least play two of them.

Also if we have 3 fit full backs then why not play all 3 Hibbo on the right, Neill on the left and push Bainsey into midfield. With a midfield of Baines, Heitenga, Roddy and Cahill plus Yak and Louis up front we would have had a lot more options to keep them occupied instead of looking at keeping the score down from the first whistle which quite frankly was embarrassing.

Agree with the comments re Fellaini made above at the moment he is a liability and whatever the need I wouldn’t start with him against the Shite. Nigel (23/11/09)

Keep The Faith

For those who actually saw the match, and not just the result, keep the faith! We rattled the Champs in the second half when Moyes paired Saha with the Yak - two top quality strikers who are gona bang the goals in very soon. Had yak's shot on the turn gone in, or Heitinga's effort in the corner, or cahill's 50-50 with van der sar, i mean we had some chances! Rodwell's shot at the end, Fellaini's free header, the signs looked good.

We looked light in the midfield because we are missing Arteta, Pienaar and Neville, who makes up for his crap footy ability with lots of heart and fight - something which Fellaini is still getting to grips with.
We all know we are missing our regulars and yes it is showing because we have struggled against a bunch of average teams this season who for the last 3 seasons we could bank on getting maximum points against.

We will batter Hull and finally beat the shite and then we can look forward to our better playes returning and if they can reach proper match fitness sharpish we can still finish in the top 5. Nobody has impressed me this season, and that bodes well because of our slow start, we can still make up for it. We have genuine quality coming back and once they do, Jags at the back with Distin, mikky and pienaar, we will finish very strong, we all know it, the football world knows it! Keep the faith! Is Guus Hiddink The Man?

With regard to the chocolate teapot, I believe Guus Hiddink is available after Russia failed to qualify. David Moyes does not have the creative side we all wish he had. Too negative, especially at home ( 4-5-1). We are a shambles at the moment. You can blame injuries all you want but we have a squad, and if that squad is not up to standard then only the manager and coaching staff are to blame. Davey boy your time is up. Please Help Sadie

Hi All,
I was wondering if you could help me out.

My 5 year old daughter Sadie ( just like her dad) is an Everton fan from London and we need the help from all Evertonians to push my daughter up the leader board of a modelling competition.

A friend of mine, a fellow evertonian suggested this idea as in the past, links for compos on the bluekipper site have been quite successful J

She has been entered into the NEXT catalogue modelling competition and is currently in position 334 out of 19,325 entries, every vote counts and she needs to be in the top 100 to win a place in the final

The Link is http://apps.facebook.com/nextonline/gallery/show_entry/147235

As much as it pains me to say it, a few children from the first few pages have had support from both Chelsea and Liverpool football clubs and even Millwall !!!!!

Please could you post this link on your website so that fellow evertonians can vote for her to rival our rivals !! J

Thanks.Danny Marshall (23/11/09)

Crap Atmosphere

Hi Guys

The only ticket I could get for Saturdays game was sitting it the Streford end with the manure.-

I just wanted to say i was out numbered so couldn’t cheer to loud, but saying that there was not much to cheer about on the pitch.

What i will say is the atmosphere in there was crap I think they must use canned cheering for Match of the day because all i could hear was the 2500 blues singing and cheering all through the game. Good on you lads i was gutting to be sitting in there but hey a tickets a ticket

Best regards. Mike Byrne (23/11/09)

Managers Performance

I see there is a lot of debate about David Moyes and the direction he is taking the club. I can understand the frustrations of fellow Evertonians as Moyes does appear to prefer negativity more often than not. However, in his defence he is in the results business. Its all very well putting a team out to go and have a go at the likes of Manure but if it all goes pear shaped and we end up getting a result like Wigan did at Spurs yesterday, then his position would be less tenable.

He has consistantly got the best out of a squad of average players (at Premiership level) and with the finances available to him he has over performed. We have to accept that when we are playing teams who can field £25 million substitutes we are going to come off second best more often than not.

He makes the wrong call occasionally as he did against Manure on Saturday but there is no one out there who could do any better with the resources available to him. I can remember the days when winning trophies was an expectation at Everton, but unless we get a bilionaire owner then we have to accept that the best we can do is to achieve 5th or 6th and maybe get lucky in a cup.

Come On Everton Show Me

Well another game, yet another defeat, another lack luster performance, just one attacker from the start, just shows the level of our ambition. When are we going to play attacking football, to at least entertain us the fans, you know like the other great premier teams do, Stoke, Sunderland and Birmingham just to name a few. We have been absolutly rubbish this season, i can take defeat god knows being an Evertonian who can't, but i am now getting to the point of expecting defeat, and its stopped hurting. What is hurting though is i think the whole club expects defeat and i don't think its hurting them either.

Lets go down fighting put some fire and passion back in the team, give us something to shout and sing about. The team on the pitch seem to lack direction and leadership, where has our spirit gone, maybe its gone to the same place all the atmosphere of Goodison home games has gone to. Come on Everton give us back our pride, if we can't get a result from the shite next week the way they have been playing then i fear for us for the rest of the season, wha are we going to accept mid way in the bottom half of the league, is just staying in the prem our goal. I would like to think we are better than that. Come on Everton show me. Brian Day (23/11/09)

Buffoon

What does he do good??? When Carsley handed in his transfer request we needed a defensive midfielder - Moysey signs Fellaini. Hopefully our European scout has been sacked!

This year Cesc Fabregas has skinned him twice (Everton and Belgium) did he not learn his lesson first time?

Things Fellaini can't do:-

Run
Track back
Control the ball
Jump when trying head a ball
Never an option on the break
Tackle

Things Fellaini can do:-

Foul (including elbowing opponents when pretending to jump). Hopefully, he will get banned soon for too many yellow cards. I can't see him getting back in the side.

It also appears that Blue Bill has tried to cover up his error, by releasing a rumour that so far we've only paid £3m for him. Frankly, if this was something we bought from a shop we would be asking for our money back! Leige must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Hopefully, I'm proved wrong. I've tried to give him the benefit of the doubt (1st season syndrome), but I just can't see a future for the club whilst playing this belgium buffoon.

I welcome any comments' in agreement or not. Stephen Connors (23/11/09)
