Everton Park I've been reading this morning that the "loop" site is to be explored again. But even if this is considered too small, why couldn't a new stadium be built on Everton Park, just over the road? There must be thousands of acres of council land there, and its not used as a park as such, unlike Stanley park. There is also loads of land to build car parks, its less than a quarter of a mile from the tunnel entrance, and is generally easily accessible as it is not a highly populated area. From Tony Williams, Walton. (25/08/08) Kirkby Move Blocked To say nothing is one thing, to actively campaign to ruin the future of EFC is another. I hope Liverpool City Council and the people behind KEIOC are now happy they have succeeded in ensuring we will struggle to be able to compete at the top level again. The selfish bigotry at the council amazes me. Does everything it can to help LFC. 3 separate planning applications for a stadium on a public park all rubber stamped without objection. Government, Local and European Funding. Yet actively campaigning to stop EFC moving to Kirby. What’s it got to do with Liverpool Council. Kirkby did not object to the Liverpool One project. St Helens (Hypocrites) did not object to their own Tesco development of the Rugby club, but chose to block EFC. How is a supermarket in one of the most deprived areas of the country going to affect the designer shops in Liverpool. Could it have anything to do with the loss of revenue the council will suffer from rates, policing, parking etc. Or the local businesses, the most vociferous campaigners to keep the club at Goodison. Surely they do not give a dam about the club when they stand to loose financially. The council have done nothing to help EFC, the first club in the city, whilst the have pandered to every request from LFC. I thought Warren Bradley was an Evertonian. Well come on Warren you come up with a £450m development and a new stadium for us instead of stopping other people doing it. The season ticket holders voted for the move, what are the credentials of the KEIOC members other than their own financial gain. Our hearts would love to stay at Goodison but anyone with a brain must realise this can not happen. I for one do not want to be in a second rate stadium overlooked a hundred yards away by one of the best stadiums in Europe. Is it any coincidence that Liverpool Council did not voice active objections to the Kirkby move until after the local elections for fear of Evertonians voting against them. Politicians only care about themselves not the electorate. We should remember this at the next opportunity to vote in the local elections. This biased council also blocked the development of Bellefield for housing. Again much needed cash for EFC. One of the reasons stated was loss of green space. This was not public green space but private, only for the use of EFC. However Stanley Park was public Green space. Oddly enough LFC have their new massive youth academy in Kirkby, do not remember any objections to that. The sad events surrounding the closure of Royal Mail at Copperas Hill show the council coming up with 3 alternative sites. Incredibly only one useless site for us. Why do they not give EFC and Tesco Walton Hall Park, only fair after all ! The short-sighted supporters who think this city gives a dam about us are fooling themselves. They will put us in the Championship and leave the city to second team established in the city. Bill Kenwright

through, Tesco have done everything in its power to see this through. Indeed they have done everything to block it. Shame on them! A very disappointed Evertonian. bluenoseq. (25/08/08) Called In Just typical innit. The sh**e get everything they want and we get called in. Do you get the feeling everything and everyone want to put as many obstacles as possible in our way to stop us from progressing. Paul Worrall. (25/08/08) Great News The Kirkby Stadium Being Called In The best thing that's happened in years. Now maybe the powers in charge will look for a ground in the city. Surely they can find a partner to help fund it. Billy (25/08/08) What Do You Think? Have your say! e-mail info@bluekipper.com e-mails index New Stadium - The Fans Views Today's
