Keep The Faith

I am just reading through some the emails slating Bill Kenwright and David Moyes. I am a long standing season tickets holder and remember the days before these guys arrived and we were in the fighting relegation year on year. Leave them alone, they are doing the best they can for EFC and the fans. Each year they pull off some good signings and at the right price. getting rid of AJ for £12/13m is a great bit of business - AJ done nothing for us last season.

We will get Moutinho and Alan Smith in to start - remember Smithy only 27 and been played out of position at a shite club. The only thing you will achieve by panicking is putting pressure on Bill to panic buy, give the red - noses something to wind us up about and spread gloom throughout the club - Keep the faith. Regards, Steve. (16/08/08)

The People's Club?

It just doesn't sound right anymore with all that's going on, what happened to getting in players and making them play for Everton, play for the people, instead of having to pay £20m for players which realistically we cant do anyway! We have wasted the whole summer on chasing big money signings when we should have been concentrating on what we could afford, instead of bidding £11.8m or whatever for Moutinho when sporting had already told us how much they would sell him for, what a waste of time! As for Keith Wyness what a prick! Who seriously wants to move to Kirkby anyway? we are EVERTON FC not Kirkby fc for fucks sake! He wastes two years worth of god knows how much money and time on this project only to fuck off when it all goes wrong, tit! Bill Kenwright is sound, fair enough he hasn't got much money but that's always been the case, still we've managed to break our transfer record consistently, still we've got into europe consistently and still we will continue to grow. People say in moyes we trust, I say in Everton we trust. Don't worry be happy! Bob Marley. (16/08/08)

Not Enough Players

Every one is saying to calm down ok lets look at the big picture. FIRST TEAM PLAYERS

GK - T HOWARD

DEFENDERS - L BAINES NUNO YOBO LESCOTT JAGS HIBB Neville

MIDFIELD - ARTETA CAHILL PIENAAR OSMAN VAN DER MEYDE

STRIKERS YAK VAUGHAN ANICHEBE

So that is 16 players. Two kids Vaughan and Anichebe. Hibbo is out for a while, cahill is just coming back from injury, van the man has not played in over two years properly. Even though our youth squads are filled with great and amazing players it is a big ask for them to fill the boots of senior players. Everybody is on about getting in QUALITY and I agree but at this moment in time we do not have the luxury of time and larger squad. We need to have players to be able to complete in all comps. Justin Coward. (16/08/08)

Club Motto

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum. With hapless Kenwrong still at the helm of the Club and all he has achieved this close season (not!) I feel that the two middle words of our motto have become utterly redundant.

Hopefully the Kirkby fiasco is over. If this bitterly divisive scheme had gone ahead where would the board have found the £78 million to fit out the four shoeboxes that Tesco were to build for us? If these monies are really there spend them on the team or risk alienating the majority of our great support. Woe betide our Owner/Chairman if an unlikely opening day defeat is inflicted upon us having made no new signings.

A short comment on the email by Grant James. “Those having a pop at Moysie, “Blue Bill” or the club unless you stick your hands deep in your pockets to pay the real cost’s” We already are. We buy Season tickets, consecutively since the mid sixties in my case, and many who cannot afford to pay a wad up front still follow the club week in week out.

The fans did not dump this club in the financial quagmire. This is collective responsibility of a series bad decisions made by the Owners/Chairmen and Board(s) of Directors over many years.

The Buck has now stopped firmly on our Owners desk, and he appears to want to do a runner. Has he been advertising our club in the miscellany section of Loot or a sweet shop window on City Road? By the number of applicants that are frenziedly beating a path to his door I doubt if our great marketing department have even ventured this deep into the world of commercial sales. Having had this rant I am still looking forward to the start of the new season and wholeheartedly supporting the team on the pitch. We are forever Everton! Jim Parry, Crosby Blue. (16/08/08)

Aussie Blues

Thank you for your great site which I look at every day in work without fail. Last night when I came home from work I found the excellent Passport Cover in the post box along with a very scary White Tail spider. So, I have just bought two more passports. I wanted to buy one for my Mum in Huyton who comes out to Australia every January and one for my mate, the wonderful Mr Vincent Peach who has the longest running soul music show in the world on PBS FM. Check Vince out at
www.pbs.com.au and click on 'Soul Time'. Vince is also from Huyton and as Blue as the Dandenong mountains.

I'm off to Northern Queensland later in the year for some serious drinking and sleeping whilst lying on a tropical beach. I have heard that Mike Trebilcock lives up there and have asked the lads at www.evertonfc.com.au if they know where he lives in Queensland as I would love to buy him ale, have a picture with him and have him sign my treasured 'Everton In The Sixties' book with that wonderful picture of Mike Trebilcock leaping in the air after equalising against Sheffield Wednesday in 1966, with Colin Harvey screaming in the background. It's a wonderful picture.

I live in Melbourne with my Australian wife, hence my absence from Goodison. But the lads at the Australian Supporters Club get wellied in the 'Cheers Bar' in Sydney whenever Everton play. Check them out if you are ever in Sydney. Thanks again for the great site. Let's hope a Russian Billionaire pays Bill off and we can get the numbers of players up. David Wilson. (16/08/08)

I know, sorry...yet another new kit moan!

Just like to add my two pence worth on the debacle that is the launch of the new kits for next season, but i've just discovered the Megastore and JJB will be selling the new adult shirts at £45! So, not only do we have to suffer the indignity of witnessing Norwegians traipsing round town in both the Shite's home and away gear for almost two months before ours is out,we apparently now have to pay an extra £5 for the privilege. Not bad value for money for a shirt due to be replaced in nine or so months time...again! (...and to all of you who think adults shouldn't wear shirts anyway...you can fuck off too!!) Billy Dean. (16/08/08)

Where's The New Players To Keep Us At The Top?

Well done Kenwright, pushing for a top four place with 16 players in the squad. He again goes on skysports talking like a madman about how great we are and David will only buy better than what we have already got. No other team seems to have that problem Bill, so come. Come off that cloud you’ve been floating on for years and do your job. Neil Povall. (16/08/08)

Alan Smith

I can't believe were looking at signing Alan Smith. What a joke. 33 league appearances for Newcastle 0 goals. 61 appearances for united 7 goals. Moyes panic buying again. Another injury prone waste of wages like Van de Meyde. Daniel Mc. (16/08/08)

What A Shame

I see that reports are surfacing this week that Referee Mark Clattenburg could be suspended pending enquiries into reports regarding his alleged debts. Now, that is a terrible shame. I am of course in no way being sarcastic J. Honest. Who will take charge of the derby game now? I think I now believe in Karma. Spencer Bishop. (16/08/08)

Fast Service

Hi guys just a brief thank you for dispatching my passport holder out so quickly it arrived in Bangkok in 5 days and also thanks for publishing my letter on how I became a blue. Regard from Bangkok. Stephen Toy. (16/08/08)

Pink Shirts

"Everton & JJB Sports are looking into the possibility of supplying some more Pink Shirts for later this year". Possibility! Come on Everton get hold of Umbro & JJB and get it done. We'll have at least three in our house and I know at least five other people who want them. If Everton don't need the brass donate more to the Breast Cancer Campaign. Not much winds me up (Red Shite Shirts in the window with the Mighty Blue Shirts at the back of the store is one) but I think our marketing boys need a dig far too often. Lets see all our shirts out there. COYB. Tank Buster. (16/08/08)

Expensive Kit

Can I just say my sister went out today to buy the new everton top, she prefers long sleeve and always pays for a name and number...she got to the til and was told it would be £55...£55 is £5 up on last year! That's ridiculous, and its more expensive than Liverpool's kit, as the woman in front of her in the queue pointed out. If I'm the only one who thinks this is ridiculous can someone please tell me or else try and find out why the price rise after the delay for a kit we'll have for less than 12 months?!! Liam. (16/08/08)

Thoughts Of CEO Keith

Let's see now, we need to raise some cash if we want to buy some new players. Got it. Sell someone. Sell AJ! Perfect. But how do I tell the supporters? They're still buying last year's shirts at reduced price with his name on the back. I'm bound to look good in Bill's eyes if I can pull this off before the new shirts arrive. Hmmm. Well, after all they're football fans and I'm a successful, corporate, fat cat, so it shouldn't be too difficult. Fulham and Wigan are both interested in AJ. I've spoken to Wigan. A-ha! I'll call Fulham and make the first move. If I tell Fulham that AJ's up for sale then, if truth be known, they haven't approached us and therefore we are not in receipt of any offer from them AND if we can't see eye to eye about how much and when, then it's fair to say that no deal has been agreed. Now, having spoken with Wigan last week and agreeing a fee of #9.5m then I suppose I could always say, without a word of a lie, that we don't have any deal agreed with Fulham. Anyway, we always have the Wigan agreement to fall back on.

Later that day

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the press conference. Everton Football Club dismiss reports claiming a deal to sell Andrew Johnson to Fulham has been agreed. I insist, no such deal has been agreed. Contrary to some media reports that have surfaced throughout the course of today, the Club can confirm that no offer has been received nor has any deal been agreed for Andrew Johnson with Fulham Football Club. Thank you"

Back in Keith's office

Piece of cake. Now, how do I make them understand that JJB are giving me all the information I require about merchandise in every outlet across the country and it's profitable for us? Let's see now. They're only football fans and I'm the fat cat. So.. You get the picture. Regards, Thom. (16/08/08)

AJ
