Moyes and Transfer

Sorry it's that boring blue from down under again. Just read the Prentice piece regarding transfers. I was a little perplexed with his remark regarding a replacement for Carsley. First of all didn't we make a genuine bid for Ramsey and spoke with the player? Secondly, would Moyes or Kenwright seriously allow Carsley to leave if we didn't have the funds to replace him? Surely we would have provided Carsley with the security he required, ie a 2 year + contract?

I think what people are not grasping is the fact that no other club have made a major signing other than Crouch to Portsmouth. Look at the turmoil at Arsenal and Utd. Even Liverpool can't get shut of Alonso to fund transfers. My only concern is the lack of a signature on our managers new contract. I am hoping its another Catterick style maneouvre by the great man to fool other clubs into thinking we have no money to spend, hence his refusal to sign a new contract. When we have signed the players we want he will duly sign! Before the beginning of August he will have signed 3 players!!! Come on you blues. Oz Blue. (22/07/08)

Toffees Fans Raise Thousands For Football Aid Charity

As you are aware, our annual event was held at Goodison Park this year, and we subsequently raised over £27,000. Charitable funds generated from this event will be distributed by our parent charity Field of Dreams (which helps funds various diabetes management programmes), Everton’s nominated charity (yet to be confirmed) and the leagues nominated charity, again, yet to be confirmed. We are wondering if it would be possible if you could post the attached story on your website for other Toffees to see, as we know that by doing this is a great way to promote the charities that the club is helping, as well as letting fans know what the clubs do for those who are less fortunate. I thank you for your time, and wish you and your team all the best for the coming season.

Fifty-five Everton fans have raised thousands of pounds for charity by living their dream and playing on the hallowed turf of Goodison Park.

Over £27,000 was raised by Toffee fans, each of whom had paid for the unique chance to pull on the famous blue shirt and play in a 90 minute fully officiated charity football match on the 15th May 2008, alongside legend Stuart Barlow.

Fan Carl Osgathorp from Oxford was grateful for the “most wonderful day of his life”.

He said: “The whole day was excellently run by Football Aid, and the added bonus of a massage before and after the game just put the icing on the cake.

”Stuart Barlow was a marvellous host, and I look forward to trying again next year.”

In past years, moneys raised from this event have helped fund projects including CANtreat, Claire House Children’s Hospice and Everton Football in the Community, all who have been nominated by Everton FC.

Charitable funds generated from the event are distributed through Football Aid’s parent charity Field of Dreams, and split between Diabetes research and management programmes and other highly deserving charitable projects nominated by Everton FC. If you would like further information regarding playing in the event, please visit the Everton Football Aid page at www.footballaid.com or contact the sales team at info@footballaid.com.

Kind Regards, Barbara Davidson. Sales and Website Co-ordinator. Football Aid. (21/07/08)

FC Sion

Yup the match was crap and there were no stars on the bench.

Umbro To Blame

A feature in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph goes on to say how BRFC are opening a new superstore at Ewood Park after taking the running of it back "in house". It is opening this Saturday, with the NEW away kit being launched BUT unfortunately the launch has been put back due to late delivery! The supplier is? come on only 3 attempts to guess, correct UMBRO, so maybe the club are absolved of any blame, for now! John Clitheroe. (22/07/08)

Mehmet Topal

Forget Fiddler on the Roof Mehmet Topal's surname has a worrying translation - topal means lame or crippled, with one leg shorter than the other. That is unless you split the word into it's parts and it becomes 'top al' which translates directly as the imperative GET THE BALL!!! So perfect for the Carsley role then. David O'Byrne. (22/07/08)

Get Kit Out Early

Why can't the kit come out early June? But that's too easy for Everton to think of. Apik. (22/07/08)

Stop Moaning

Your all complaining that the new strip isn't much different to last seasons, which is correct, but what do you want them to do? If they put a blue stripe down the middle you would complain, or any other colour? Everton strips are meant to be like this. We are everton, we don't want the kit to change too much, this is our colour. Personally I think this strip looks better, it's more retro, with the type of stitched on collar. I haven't been close up yet, but the material is different, to help in different conditions. I'm only 15, and I say stop complaining. Well Done EVERTON!!! Corrie Stapleton. (22/07/08)

Everton's Failure

Lies, lies, lies and more lies! There's no plan B now Plan B is to stay at Goodison! The kit will be out on the 10th July! We have an exclusivity deal with Tesco! We have an exclusivity deal with JJB! The new stadium is the deal of the Century! The new stadium is free .....but for £130m? The transfer kitty is separate to the stadium...................In the words of Alan Sugar..........' Keith Lieness You're fired! Yozzer Hughes. (22/07/08)

Carsley Replacement

You no everyone's asking "Who's gunna replace Carsley?" Well what about Jimmy Bullard. He can take better peno's and free kicks than Mikel CUM ON MOYSEY MAKE AN OFFER. James Charters. Proud Everton fan. (22/07/08)

For Pities Sake!

Once again I am starting to panic! Whilst Kenwright and Wyness are forging ahead with their plans for the "Tescodome" we still do not have a signed contract from David Moyes. The fact that he has, finally, brought in an assistant would indicate that he is staying. But for how long? From that which I have read, only rumour, we are £60m in debt at the moment. We are now planning to extend that debt by a further £78m. How on earth can there be any money left for any transfer business, for Moyes, when we are trying to service a £138m, and rising, debt?

Will the alleged revenue streams garnered through the use of corporate facilities cover this? I think not myself but hopefully I am wrong. The more I think about this ground move the more concerned I become. I have also read, about Kenwright's Q&A session at the ESCLA. It makes pretty depressing reading. Hopefully he was keeping his cards close to his chest but that is not the way it comes across. I have not been one of Moyes` greatest fans. However I am now beginning to wonder how much more of this rubbish he will put up with. He has had to make do and mend for the past few seasons and just when it looks like we will do well.

Please do not remind me that we have broken our transfer record for the past three seasons as I am aware of that. Possibly a question of "Speculate to accumulate ?" Ian Ross, who I believe is the head of the PR Dept, has stated that the move to Kirkby will not affect Moyes transfer budget. Does that mean that there was not a lot to start with? Or, hopefully, it means that he will have sufficient funds to enable us to push on and try for one of the top four spots in the Premier League. Something tells me that it is not the latter. A very dispirited Blue, John.

Kerry Humphries

Congratulations to Kerry Humphries on winning the sexy football league and therefore qualifying for Miss UKFF 2009.
It just shows, as proven time and time again, as in other polls shown on BK, the dedication of Evertonians and the Blue Kipper membership not only in voting when asked, but also to appreciate the best talent in the country, and as Kerry proves, not only on the hallowed turf. GOOD LUCK KERRY. John B, Wirral. (22/07/08)

NO Everything

NO Moyesy signing! NO player signings! NO season ticket yet! NO kit! NO ground! NO panic!(er honest). Rhodris-dad. (22/07/08)

Micky Blue Eyes Euro summary - hmm.

Not quite sure what to make of MBE in his Euro's report. He accuses BBC "self-styled experts" ( a point which I agree with by the way ) of "being so anti -German it verges on racism". Whilst I am not sure whether this allows for the fact that HHH - Horrible Handball Hansen - actually plumped for the Germans to win from the outset is immaterial as Micky then goes on to tell us that - quote - "The Jerries were through". Little bit or pre- conceived Boys Own / Commando mag racism there wouldn't you think! Anyone else as confused by this as me or am I just being non-conciously pettier than MBE. Can't disagree with his last line though about personal pride and believing their own publicity. Now that's a good shout that doesn't just apply to England international players or so called top 4 club players, it's endemic all over. Steve Green. (22/07/08)

Moyes Signing

Have I missed something this summer or are we still wating for David Moyes to commit his future to the blues? Apologies if I have missed it!!! Mick Southall. (22/07/08)

New York Contacts Anyone

I'm off to New York at the end of the month. I seem to recollect that there is a restaurant owned by an Evertonian with a free drink for having an EFC tattoo. Am I correct and can anybody assist please? Any news concerning bars for visiting Evertonians would be appreciated also. Gwladys. (22/07/08)

Euro 2008

Just to let you know that I found Mickey Blue Eye's synopsis of Euro 2008 to be absolutely top notch! Much better than any of the guff you hear or see through the mainstream media. Spain deserved to win but I could not bring myself to support what was clearly the best team due to the views of their coach, Aragones. The man is an out and out racist and yet nobody picked up on it whatsoever. Glen Hoddle lost his job for suggesting that disabled people were disabled as they had been bad in a past life. To most people that would make him a nutjob, which he clearly is, but it still isn't in the same league as some of the rubbish which Aragones comes out with. Racist Ron Atkinson ruined his career but expressing his views in a careless manner, and rightly so. The man is now something of a pariah. Yet nobody at the BBC dared to mention that Aragones was a racist, even though it would be neither slanderous nor libelous to do so. It just smacks of double standards to me, and I can't work out why this man is even allowed to be the coach of a national team. I could rant incoherently for hours about this but that'll do for now. Rob Fairhurst. (22/07/08)

Not Much Change

I can't believe how we can have a new kit every season and do the slightest of changes to it. the only differences is that there is no yellow on the collar, the collar is one of those pikey ones made to look like a collar which is actually just coloured in. Also the diamonds have moved from the shoulder to the bottom of the sleeves! Not much change there! I'm hoping that the 3rd shirt will be better. The away one is ok that's the one I'll probably buy. George Farr, Chelmsford. (22/07/08)

Dixie Dean Statue

My husband is a big Everton supporter and is very proud of Dixie Dean. As Our Bronze wedding anniversary is coming up next week I have been trying to find a small bronze statue of Dixie Dean as a present. Unfortunately I have been unable to find one anywhere. Not even close. I have scoured the WWW and cannot find a single replica, only posters/photos/books etc. I don't suppose, with your vast knowledge of Everton, anyone at Blue kipper can suggest somewhere I may be able to get one? Thanks for you help. Helen Hoban. (13/07/08)

MBE On The Euro's

Great article by Mickey on the Euro's, especially the slights at all the racist/xenophobic pricks. However; Torres, 'the best...since Jimmy Greaves'? Regardless of the stinking rag he pulls on on a saturday, how can you make such an analogy? Lineker, now there was an opportunist, natural goal scorer. Keep up the excellent work chaps. Best wishes, The @narchist Little Boy Blue. (13/07/08)

Three World Class Midfielders Please

Who are Everton going to sign? We need a winger as an outlet, a defensive midfielder to replace Carsley and also a playmaker. 3 world class players we need and if AJ goes we then need a striker but the main priority is to get 3 class midfielders. Laquaduct. (13/07/08)

Run 4 Paul

Hi Bluekipper, here is a leaflet which tells a short story about our very brave son, Paul. Currently he is still under going chemotherapy at Alder Hey. All being well this treatment should be complete by late August. As his leaflet says he is determined to raise funds for research, if possible can you put his leaflet on your site from which people can access his web site and possibly help towards raising funds. Paul's last game was the home leg against Metalist the day after brought the terrible news. He himself cannot wait to get back to Goodison , August the 9th hopefully will be his first game back. Anything else that Bluekipper can do will be much appreciated. COYB. Tony Gavin and family. (13/07/08)
