EVERTON

    Goalscorers: Lescott Saha(2) Attn: 33,961

Everton: Howard, Neville, Yobo, Jagielka, Lescott, Arteta, Osman, Cahill, Rodwell, Anichebe, Saha.

Bench: Nash, Hibbert (Saha), Baines (Anichebe), Castillo, Gosling, Vaughan (Rodwell), Jutkiewicz.

Referee: Mark Halsey

The Blues are most definitely becoming the late, late show kings as three goals in five minutes sealed our fourth away win of the season. Make no mistake though, we were poor, or should I say the game was poor, as a Louis Saha brace and a Roger Lescott header maintained the Blues hold on a UEFA Cup spot. The Frenchman in question is at last finding his scoring boots, and was head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch for the last ten minutes. I go on about the last ten minutes, as the other eighty would give us very little to talk about, apart from De Hammers opener which came courtesy of substitute Jack Collinson.

Moyesy who was without the suspended Maro Felliani, also had to contend with the loss of Peanuts and The Yak prior to kick off. Big Vic got the nod up front with Louis Saha, and Jack Rodwell was preferred to Segundo Castillo. Moyesy must have thought early on that it was not going to be our day, with West Ham doing most of the pressing. Tim howard pulled of a wonderful stop when he tipped a Freddie Sears effort onto the bar, and ex shit 'ed Bellamy (he off the golf club fame) was a bundle of energy up front.

Jack Rodwell made way shortly after De Hammers opener for James Vaughan, as the Boss threw caution to the wind, to try and get at least a share of the spoils. With the clock ticking down, Louis Saha found the ball out on the right and fired a lovely cross into Roger Lescott who found himself with all the room in the world. His bullet header flew past Robert Green, and the England defender celebrated in front of the traveling hordes like he meant it.

It got better within a few minutes, when Big Vic set up Louis Saha, who fired low and watched his daisy cutter once again beat the hapless Green. De Hammers now were rightly shell shocked, and some more poor defending from them followed when they cleared the ball straight to Starman Louis Saha. He chanced his arm from twenty yards out and this time his shot flew into the left hand corner, once again, you've guessed it past the hapless Green (he is shit anyway).

Another week, another get out of jail card, but do we care, do we hell. Three wins back to back, Boro at home next week. Confidence is definitely back in the Blues squad, and after our early season woes, you feel as a Blue you once again have a spring back in your step, I do anyway. Off on the lash now !!

Quotes After The Game

Moyesy says: "The boys kept at it and we didn't panic too much. I don't think our play was as good as it should have been but we stuck at it and came away with the result. Louis for me is still finding his way. For 60 minutes today he didn't have a massive impact. We could have made changes but we wanted to keep the goalscorers like Tim and Saha on the pitch.

I think the goal will do Lescott goal, I think that is what he has been missing - that bit of adventure and rampaging down the wing from left-back. I think it will give him confidence and I hope he tells you it was because of the practice I have been giving him in training!

He is a top talent (Louis Saha). He has not missed a day's training since we signed him. If he can continue to get goals then it will help him and us. He is on a two-year contract and signing him was a bit of a 'no-brainer' for us. The only question was his fitness. I think it was a little bit of a gamble as we've tried not to sign too many players with an injury record."

Everton Team News

Everton are without the suspended Fellaini, but welcome back Segundo Castillo who many think will slot straight into the midfield. The other two casulties are Lars Jacobsen and Nuno Valente. We hope Moyesy sticks with the 442 which saw Louie Saha score his first Everton goal, but he may revert to 4 5 1.

Everton hope to continue the good form they had a West Ham last season, when they won two games in 4 days. The squad won a Carling cup game on the Wednesday and the club decided to stay down in London for the Premier league game on the Saturday. The Yak scored in both games.

Jags says: "It was the best part of my season and I started to play. We stayed down there and we had a meal together and had two fantastic wins. I definatley have to agree with the gaffer that kept our decent run going and kicked us on. With Zola they had a good start but things haven't been too good since and were going to go down there full of confidence and hopefully go and get a win."

Moyesy says: "We played well there last year and got two really important results in league and cup. But that was last year and it’s a different West Ham with a different manager. It’s a different Everton too but I would love a similar result.

I've not had dealings with him (Zola) since he left Chelsea. The day that he scored that goal (voted one of the best Chelsea have ever scored) would be the last time I have seen him but he was a top player. It is different going into management and he will find that but, nevertheless, I think he has got the credentials to carry it off. We know we face a tough game and we will need to be at our best to get a result."

Lavo's Best Bet

* Not funny now The Yak. Christmas is cancelled for the kids this year, after you went on a scoring strike. Hopefully at the scene of one last seasons hot spots for you, you will come good again, so get on the Yak to break me even at 7/1 for the first goal.

At least Louis Saha did it for us last week, and gave us a few quid to buy a few pints. This week though me thinks Mikky will pop up with a penalty or a dead ball to net for the Blues in the match. Get on him at 4/1 to net anytime.

About The Opposition

Mark Noble and Valon Behrami are out injured, but Scott Parker returns from injury. Carlton Cole is out suspended. Diego Tristan and Calum Davenport will have fitness tests.

Manager Giafranco Zola thinks Fellaini out suspended will be a big loss for Everton.

Zola says: "Fellaini's going to be a big miss for them because, in their formation, he is an important player. They paid a lot of money for him as well so it means they have a lot of faith in him. He's a threat, especially in set plays and when the ball is out wide he gets in the box. For them he's going to be a big miss. My job is to work with these players and make a better team ... everything I need is in this squad. I'm focused on making them play and perform as well as they can.

I like their manager (David Moyes). He did a great job last year and he can be one of the examples we can use. They’re a smaller team who got good results and it would be great for us to emulate them or maybe do even better.

I like to play spicy. We have conceded a lot of goals and in the last few games we were quite solid. But having said that I won’t give up on my idea and I would love to play attacking football. Now I won’t change my attitude. The fans have a lot of confidence in us and they are happy with what we’re trying to achieve here."

De Hammers from: : Green, Neill, Collins, Upson, Ilunga, Faubert, Parker, Collison, Mullins, Boa Morte, Bowyer, Bellamy, Sears, Etherington, Walker, Lastuvka, Lopez, Tomkins, Di Michele, Tristan, Davenport.
