G Laa has another Semi Final to look forward to as England U19's
demolished Slovenia 7-1 in their Group match to secure a Semi
spot against France this Thursday. Danny played the full ninety
minutes and helped secure top spot for his country in the European
Championships currently being held in the Ukraine. (28/07/09)

Goal
For The Goose
Danny
G Laaa netted for England U19's tonight against the Ukraine in
Donetsk, as The Three Lions drew 2-2 with the host Nation in the
Euro Championships. Danny's goal came six minutes into the second
period, but Ukraine came back to snatch an equaliser. The Swiss
and Slovenia who are also in Group A drew as well to leave the
Group finally balanced. (24/07/09)

Jack
and England Routed
Jack
Rodwell got thirteen minutes tonight as England were hammered
4-0 by their deadly rivals Germany in the Final of the U21 European
Championships in Malmo, Sweden. Our boys were already 2-0 down
when Jack the lad took to the field, as Manager Stuart Pearce
slotted him in at centre half. As we went looking for goals to
get us back in the game, the Germans took full advantage to score
two more and lift the trophy for the first time in their history.
Go and enjoy your jollies now Jack, The Arse await on the weekend
of August 15th. (29/06/09)

Last
Gasp Defeat For Tim
Tim
Howard's eleven month season came to a despairing close tonight
as Brazil grabbed a last gasp winner to grab The Confederations
Cup from the USA's grasp. Tim Howard's boys had led 2-0 at half
time, but straight from the kick off in the second period Fabiano
pulled one back for Brazil. The States then found themselves under
the cosh, and Tim was called upon more than once to pull off some
top draw saves. Brazil duly equalised, then with a few minutes
left on the clock Lucio struck to hand the Cup to Brazil. Its
jolly time now for Tim, till we see him again in mid July, enjoy
the break son. (28/06/09)

Goose
In England Squad
Super
Dan Gosling (Goose To His Mates) is to miss all Everton's
pre-season games, as he is in the England U19s squad for the
European Championships in Ukraine. The tornie is on from 21st July
until 2nd August 2009. Goose has 4 U19s caps. (27/06/09)

Another
Final For Jack
Its
not turning into a bad season for our Jack when tonight he helped
England U21's through to the Final of the European Championships
in Sweden. Jack came on in the seventieth minute and was helpless
as England surrendered a three goal lead to the host side in Gothenburg.
England's job was made harder when Frazier Campbell was sent off,
and after enduring a scary extra time period, England triumphed
5-4 on pens after the game ended 3-3.
Jack
will be definitely in the mix for a Final spot on Monday evening
in Malmo, as Campbell and Villa's Agbonlahor find themselves both
suspended. Well played Jack, your doing your club and country
proud. (26/06/09)

Pienaar
Man Of The Match Against Brazil
Steven
Pienaar was South Africa's best player in the 1-0 defeat by Brazil
in the Confederations Cup semi-Final. Brazil now play Tim Howard's
USA in the final.
Peanuts
says: "It's
a shame because we know there was something we could have achieved
from the game but it was a great learning experience. The
World Cup is still a long way off but we have a young team and
we can only build on this."
That
confidence is what's been lacking in the game. We've been talking
a lot about self-belief and that came today but unfortunately we
played against a superior team who can score from anywhere."

Howard
Keeps Clean Sheet in Historic Win Over Spain
Tim
Howard is in the final of the Confederations Cup after a shock
USA 2-0 win over European Champions, Spain. Goals from Altidore
and Dempsey, together with some great saves from Howard from a
certain lady boy (see photo) ended the Spanish 35-game unbeaten
run. Steven Pienaar could join his Everton team mate in the final
if South Africa beat Brazil. Who said it can't happen? (24/06/09)

Howard
Back For USA
USA
coach Bob Bradley has confirmed that Tim Howard will be back in
goal for the USA in the semi-final of the Confederations Cup with
Spain on Wednesday night.
Howard was rested
for their final group game against Egypt, when several fringe players
were given a game, thinking that they were out of the comp, but
a 3-0 coupled with Brazil's 3-0 win over Italy, put the USA through.
Bradley
says: "Tim Howard will return to goal. He's been our
No.1 ‘keeper; he's experienced, and he's had a great season."

| Praise
For England Star Jack
A man
of the match performance for Everton's Jack Rodwell against Germany
last night has had the England U21 manager Stuart Pearce and captain
Mark Noble giving him plenty of praise. Jack is hoping for a place
in the semi-final on Friday.
Jack
says: "You just have to take your chance when you
get it and hopefully I did that and I'm in the manager's thoughts.
There is always more to come, you can always improve. We're all
working together and know it's a squad game. We're
definitely confident going into the semis, we go in to play our
own game and hopefully we'll get through it."
Stuart
Pearce says: "He's a quiet character but strong mentally.
I feel there is a strong character in there and he undoubtedly has
great ability. He's so comfortable on the ball, it's difficult to
compare him to other players. The ball comes to him and you don't
expect him to lose it. At this level of international it is a great
commodity to have."
Mark
Noble says: "I've liked him more every time he's been
around. He's so young but plays like an experienced pro sometimes.
He's
a joy to play with in training, he's just so laid back. He doesn't
try the magical stuff just gives it a simple 5-yard pass. He's a
really good player and definitely one for the future."

Howard
In Semi-Final
Tim
Howard's USA beat Egypt 3-0 and finished runners up in their group.
The Everton keeper was on the bench as the USA gave their fringe
players a game. With Brazil beating Italy 3-0, USA go through
on goals scored and meet Spain on Wednesday night. (22/06/09)

| Peanuts
Through To Semi-Final
Despite
loosing 2-0 to World Champions Spain, Steven Pienaar's South Africa
is through to the semi-final of the Confederation Cup.
Peanuts
says:
"It was a tough game. I was really looking forward to it and
it is unfortunate that we lost. I put my hands up as we lost against
the best team in the world." (21/06/09)

Cup in South Africa. (18/06/09) |

| Nuts
Plays Full Ninety - Tim Gets Brace
Nuts
picked up a yellow card as his South African side beat New Zealand
2-0, a result which leaves them a point away from a Semi Final in
the Confederations Cup. Peanuts played the full ninety minutes in
the win in the Royal Bafokeng Stadium , and a point against Spain
on Sunday in Bloefontein will ensure that they stay in the Competition.
Meanwhile
Tiny Tim scored a brace as already qualified Australia beat Japan
2-1 in their World Cup Qualifying group in Melbourne. With all that
now out of the way, Tiny is off on his jollies. (17/06/09) |

Yobo
Misses Training For Nigeria
Nigeria
skipper Joseph Yobo has missed a training camp in Malta due to
being refused a visa. Joe will now fly direct to Tunisia today
to meet up with the rest of the squad for the all important qualifying
match against Tunisia on Saturday. Joe was clicking his heels
along with forward John Utaka, goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba and assistant
coach Daniel Amokachi.
NFF
spokesman Ademola Olajire says: "Super Eagles’ Assistant
Coach, Daniel Amokachi and the three players who were expecting
entry visa into Malta from the Austrian Embassy will now travel
direct to the Tunisian capital on Wednesday." (17/06/09)

| Rodwell
To Start Against Spain
Jack
Rodwell came on as a late sub for England's U21's 10 men as they
beat Finland 2-1 in the opening European Under-21 Championship game
in Halmstad last night. Jack is now in line to start against Spain
on Thursday as Michael Mancienne is suspended and Micah Richards
is injured. (16/06/09)

| Howard
Loses To World Champions
Tim
Howard played the full 90 minutes for the USA who lost 3-1 to World
Cup holders, Italy in their first Confederations Cup game in Pretoria.

Nuts
Open With a Draw
Stephen
Pienaar's South Africa opened with a nil all draw against Iraq
in their Confederation Cup match in Johannesburg's Ellis Park.
Nuts only came on with five minutes to go after an ankle knock
kept him on the bench as a precautionary measure. The South Africans
face New Zealand on Wednesday in a must win game.
Blues
Keeper Tim Howard's USA open up with a match against World Champs
Italy on Monday, and Tim who will also face Brazil later in the
week is looking forward to the Tournament.
Tim
says: "Let's face it, we are not one of the favourites.
We have Brazil and Italy in our group, so it's hard to say we
are here to win. But
we can use this tournament to build up our momentum game by game
and looking forward to 2010 this is a great opportunity."

Seventh
Cap For Roger
Joleon
Lescott won his seventh cap when he played the full 90 minutes for
England in the 6-0 win over Andorra in the world cup qualifier.

England
Goal For Jack
Jack
Rodwell got the winner for England Under-21s in a 7-0 thrashing
of Azerbaijanin. It was his first ever goal for
England
Under-21s.
Jack came on at half time and is hoping his performance will make
Stuart Pearce pick him for England's European Championship opener
against Finland on Monday in Sweden.

Well
Played Tiny
Tiny
Tim put his FA Cup heartache behind him after his Australia team
booked their place at next years World Cup Finals bash in South
Africa. The Socceroo's played out a goalless draw against Qatar
to get the point needed to qualify.
England
stayed on course with a 4-0 stroll against Kazak, what's their
name, but Roger had to be content with keeping the bench warm.
Lars played the full ninety as the Danes beat Sweden as they stay
on course for South Africa, and Nuts warmed up for the Confederations
Cup as South Africa beat Poland 1-0. (07/06/09)

| Roger
Hopes For Starting England Role
With
Rio 'this is how to take a pen' Ferdinand out of the England squad
through injury, Joleon Lescott looks favourite to come into the
England defence for the key World Cup games against Kazakhstan
and Andorra
Roger
says: "This is definitely the perfect way to get over
Saturday.
It
was a great disappointment for me and the club but obviously we
have to get over it now, international duty beckons and we're concentrating
fully on that. I haven't stamped my authority on the England squad
yet. I'm in and out so I want to knuckle down, train hard and hopefully
get in the squad more regularly.
"Would
I like to start? It would be nice, but I don't want to see Rio injured,
he's one of the best in the world. But it would be a chance of a
way in, and if he's not selected I'll be looking forward to it if
I'm involved.
"Rio
and JT are two of the best in the world, so they have the England
first-choice places. I like to believe I'm in contention for the
back-ups. I want to represent my country in a big tournament. I've
maintained a level of consistency."
"It’s
great working with David Moyes. He’s defensive minded and that helps
me improve my game. We’re a well organised team and that helps me
as well. I always see myself as a centre- back and now I’m playing
there I’m enjoying it a lot more." (04/06/09) |

Call
Up
Joleon
Lescott has been called up to Fabio's Squuuaaaaadd for the forthcoming
World Cup Qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Andorra. Roger will
join up with the England after this weekends FA Cup Final. There
is no place for Bainsey unfortunately as Fabio had drafted in
Cashley Cole and Wayne Bridge instead. Never mind Leighton, Cashley
would only be pissed off every time you show him your Cup Winners
Medal. Get in there. COYB FTRS (26/05/09)

Cap For Jags
Phil
Jagielka came on to help a shaky England defence out in the 2-1
win over the Ukraine. He added Andri Shevchenko to his list of
players he has had in his pocket. Even if it was for 10 minutes.

Everton Internationals
Maro
Fellaini's Belgium were on the end of a 4-2 defeat by Bosnia Herzevogina,
but still have a chance to progress if they overcome the same team
in the away game tonight. Segundo Castillo played in Ecuador's 1-1
draw against Brazil. This keeps their chances alive of qualifying,
especially if they win the home game against group leaders Paraguay
later today. Tim Cahill was left on the bench, with worries still
about his injured calf, but he wasn't needed as the Socceroo's won
2-0 to virtually clinch the qualification. (01/04/09) |

Congratulations
to the Blues Jack Rodwell who tonight made his debut for England's
U21's at Nottingham Forest's City Ground against France. Jack

he could do nothing to avert a 2-0 defeat for Stuart Pearce's
side. (31/03/09)

Howard
& Yobo Out Of World Cup Games
Tim
Howard is out of the USA v El Salvador game on Saturday night
after collecting his second yellow card of the World Cup qualifying
game against Mexico in February. The Everton keeper is suspended
for one game.
Tim
Howard says:
The rules are the rules. I always want to be playing. I think
that goes without saying. I think everybody does. Will it be difficult?
Well, I’ll just be rooting for the guys and I’ll be into the game,
it will be intense and I’ll be hoping for a good result."
Joey
is out of the Nigerian team to play Mozambique with a hamstring
injury he picked up while training with Everton in Spain. It is
thought the injury is not that serious, but he will be assessed
back at Finch farm next week.
Joey
says: "I will be in Mozambique to support the squad
because maximum points is what we need. I've been in touch with
some of the players, we have a young squad, therefore we all need
to fight on and off the pitch. I have spoken to my club and they
understand how deeply I feel about the national team. I'm glad they
have granted me permission to travel, I cannot sit down in England
while the rest of squad go to war." (27/03/09)

Well
Played Rodders
Jack
Rodwell played and had the honour of captaining England U19's
last night as they drew 0-0 with the Czech Republic at Walsall's
Banks Stadium. His Blues teammate Dan Gosling also played in the
drab affair. Jack will now link up with the U21's ahead of their
match against France in the coming week.
Earlier
in the day Jose Baxter played for the full ninety minutes as the
U17's condemned Portugal to a 1-0 defeat. Well played to all.

Congratulations
Bainsey
Its
a sign of the Blues defensive might, when Leighton Baines joined
Phil Jagielka and Joleon Lescott in Fabio Capello's Full England
Squaaaaaad. Bainsey has been in impressive form of late, after
his run in the Blues side has coincided with our excellent League
and Cup run. The games Leighton will be involved in will be the
friendly against Slovakia and the World Cup Qualifier against
Ukraine. Well played to all.
Leighton
says: "I was delighted to be in the initial 30 and
obviously even more so to be in the actual squad. It is a great
honour to be selected for your country and although I know it
will be difficult to break into the actual team I'm looking forward
to the experience. What makes it even better is that two of my
defensive teammates at Everton are also in the squad and that
reflects very well on how well we have been defending in the last
few months." (22/03/09)

Call
Ups
The
Blues have a host of stars on International duty in the next few
weeks. Joey Yobo is on Nigeria duty, Tim Cahill is back off to
Sydney as the Socceroo's play Uzbekistan in the World Cup Qualifiers,
and Jack Rodwell has been called up for England U21's.
It
is a first call up for Jack at this level and it caps off a great
time for the youngster. He has signed a new contract, and scored
his first goal for the Blues in a whirlwind few weeks. He and
England will face France in a friendly at Nottingham Forest City
Ground on March 31st. (19/03/09)

Jags
Starts For England / Round Up
Jags
played the first 45 minutes for England in the 2-0 defeat against
Spain. Jag was at fault for Spain's first goal,
after he gave possession away to David Villa who went onto net.
Matthew Upson came on for our dependable centre half at the break.
Make up for it Sunday Phil, head up and don't worry about it.
Meanwhile,
Tim Howard kept a clean sheet again as The USA beat Sexy Sven's
Mexico 2-0 in a World Cup qualifier. Joey Yobo went into the Lions
Den literally, as Nigeria drew with Jamaica at Millwall's New
Den 0-0 in a friendly match. All are unscathed ahead of Sunday
FA Cup tie with Villa. (11/02/09)

A
Point Keeps Cahill On Course For World Cup Glory
Tim
played all but 10 minutes of the 0-0 draw for Australia against
Japan. The Socceroos now are top of their World Cup group, and look

Segundo
Castillo played for a 3-2 winning Ecuador side against England under
21's in a friendly in Spain. While Dan Gosling and Jack Rodwell

friendly with Spain. Dan played 60 minutes while Jack played the

Cahill
May Start As Striker For Country
Socceroos
coach Pim Verbeek may take a leaf out of Moyesy's book and play
Tim Cahill as a striker in the important world cup qualifier in
Japan. Tim has scored 14 in 30 games from midfield and would relish
the chance to play up front for his country.
Tim
says:
"I've played about 10 to 12 games as a striker for Everton,
and as a professional footballer you've got to adapt. And I feel
like I've adapted to it. I've got an eye in front of goal and I
can keep that going. To
be picked for your country is the biggest honour you can get. Whether
it's in midfield, fullback, or as a striker, I'll do it to the best
of my ability.
This
is definitely going to be the hardest game of our campaign. We feel
ready, we're excited, 70,000 people in a stadium like that, hopefully
we get a good result. A draw would be a good result here. We'd
take any sort of points in this situation." (10/02/08)
